Guidance for raising and educating a new generation.


UNLEARNING with Kim Southerland is an immersive six-week online course designed to support parents and educators with the guidance and understanding around the gifts and needs of a new generation of children.

Many of our newer generations draw from a wider field of energy leading to diverse forms of intelligence, energetic sensitivities, pronounced interests and passions, and a heart-based approach to life. They benefit from an education that goes beyond the mind, to one that includes their heart and soul. In order to support them, the caregivers in their lives often have to unlearn much of what we have been taught or conditioned to believe about happiness and success.

If you are a parent or an educator of a neurodivergent child whose behavior, emotions, or learning seems confusing or challenging, or if you would simply benefit from greater support, this course will help you gain the tools, awareness, and confidence on what truly matters, the reasons behind it, and what strategies may no longer be effective in raising and educating our newer generations.

Throughout these six weeks, you will gain the opportunity to understand your child and yourself on a deeper level, build a foundation based on authentic communication, connection, and trust, while creating lasting change in both your life and your child/student’s life.

COURSE OVERVIEW

  • Learn how today’s generation is helping us evolve and what we need to know to support them and ourselves as we move from an old paradigm into a new consciousness.

  • Children diagnosed with learning differences and other “disorders” are often seen more for their limitations in many mainstream environments, rather than for their incredible capabilities. This perception places an enormous burden and undue stress on children, parents, families, and educators to “fix” what is perceived as a problem.

    Topics may include: how to move from fixing to supporting, the hidden capabilities under labels of disability that are helping us evolve, how to address school and other struggles, changing how we see our children and then seeing how they change in response, moving from control and fear to collaboration and trust.

  • Many children today have a heightened capacity to perceive energy reflecting what they feel in parents, teachers, friends, and others through their behavior and emotions. Understanding these acute sensitivities allows for an opportunity to make shifts within ourselves that will lead to positive changes in our children.

    Topics may include: supporting energetic sensitivity at home and school, the importace of changing our limiting thoughts into positive potentials, and how these sensitivites affect your child.

  • This session focuses on why many children simply do not resonate with our learning systems, parent-child relationships based on control or punitive consequences, or learning and vocations that are unrelated to their passions or interests. Discover why conformity and coercion often leads to long-term struggles that are stressful for the child and whole family and what does work.

    Topics may include: specific tools and techniques, different forms of communication, how to move from control to collaboration and compassion, and from blame and shame to self-responsibility and self-love.

  • This week we focus on the necessity of self-care and self-love. Children, adolescents, and others with heightened sensitivities naturally tend to mirror or emotionally reflect what is unintegrated in their caregivers or close relationships. We discuss why you are the change your child is waiting for, what leads to your own integration, epigenetics, and other similar topics. This class may include: epigenetics, self-compassion and self-love practices, meditation, guided imagery, energy integration, and light language.

  • The final session establishes the foundations that will allow you and your child experience a greater sense of belonging, and ultimately feel valued and accepted for who they are. We discuss the benefits of building a greater awareness of one’s true self and how that fosters a more conscious and kind world.
